Dr. Thakor

Dr. Thakor founded the Arthritis and Rheumatology Clinic of Northern Colorado in 2002.  The clinic is focused on providing high quality care in a compassionate manner to patients with rheumatic diseases.  He sees patients with a wide variety of rheumatic diseases but is particularly focused on the treatment of rheumatoid arthirits and other types of inflammatory arthritis.


Originally from North Dakota he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he graduated summa cum laude.  He then attended the Creighton University School of Medicine where he graduated cum laude.  He completed his internal medicine residency and chief residecny at Creighton before moving to Arizona where he completed his fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Arizona.  During his fellowship his research was focused on the use of biologic agents to treat rheumatoid arthritis.


Dr. Thakor is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and is board certified in Rheumatology.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, Colorado Medical Society and the Northern Colorado Medical Society.  He is also a voluntary faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he helps teach rheumatology fellows.  Dr. Thakor also helps teach family medicine residents in the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency program and has given lectures to students at the new CSU medical school.  He also works with Tekton Research participating in clinical trials of new arthritis medications and vaccines.

When Dr. Thakor is not working; he enjoys spending time with his family.  His wife, Colleen, is employed at the office.  His son, Tommy, is a CSU student.  Dr. Thakor also enjoys golf, gardening and travel.
